ManHole ManHole is a single channel video installation. As if unearthed from beneath the surface of our perceptions, this piece exposes what is hidden, what shames us. Constructed from a 50 gallon drum cut into a tube and framed with 1/2 inch steel, ManHole is sunken in the ground and formed with concrete. Once set, it is ripped from the ground and installed in the gallery space. A green monochromatic monitor is suppended in the hole with green light spilling out of the top and bottom. The video montages broadcasts time shifted events from our culture. No Sound. Bill Hill |
